While I've seen white eggplant before, I've never actually tasted one. I wonder how it compares to regular purple eggplant. Like white chocolate to dark chocolate perhaps?Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-39843022999543246162009-09-22T21:47:17.461-07:002009-09-22T21:47:17.461-07:00Eggplants are weirdly beautiful things, aren't...Eggplants are weirdly beautiful things, aren't they? I once saw a white one on the vine, and it was this magnificent, creamy, faintly-opalescent object capped in very evil thorns. I wanted to take pictures of it, rather than eat it.jjdebenedictishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16950592240599703771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-57958066869969808852009-09-22T19:22:24.945-07:002009-09-22T19:22:24.945-07:00Haha, Roni. Dan and I share that burden... as for the camera, uh, well, yes to both. I carry the camera around a lot AND stage scenarios. I'd say that Dan oozes patience (which he usually does), but just a few minutes ago, he said, "Stop blogging, and step away from the computer! You're obsessed, woman!" He might have a point. :-)

Lori - Sorry to hear about your garden woes. With the weather as bad as it was everywhere, I feel grateful to have had veggies at all. Glad you enjoyed my photos... I had fun taking them!Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-29558827401424328052009-09-22T18:35:09.500-07:002009-09-22T18:35:09.500-07:00Deb - Thanks! His eggplant dish was awesome, which is funny, 'cause he doesn't even like it much.

Susan - Glad you enjoyed my wee tale - and that it made you hungry. Yay! Growing flowers is a mighty skill, too, one that I don't really have. I'm better at edible plants, I guess.Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-44006628973046698372009-09-22T18:21:31.830-07:002009-09-22T18:21:31.830-07:00Hi, all! I've been feeling poopy since this morning.

Let's see...

Natalie - Yep, more food pictures! I love food - can't you tell? ;-) I was pleasantly surprised by the eggplant. And congrats on the watermelon! I've certainly never tried that before, which is strange, 'cause I love me some melon! (Not to mention spitting seeds!)

Becky - I keep trying to get Mr. Dan to open a restaurant, but he usually grumbles something unintelligible and changes the subject. And, yes, decent eateries are hard to find up here - though Paul's Pub is pretty good. :-) Sorry to hear you gave up gardening, but the shade issue is definitely a factor. I hope your Oregon garden thrives... I'd love to come by for a little fresh okra. Oh, how I love fried okra!
