And, yes, I, too, have seen THE PRINCESS BRIDE a gazillion times... but I've only read the book once, which was enough. Too self-indulgent for me.

P.S. I think Hannah was in the last MUMMY movie, but I never saw it... and he plays my favorite character in FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL - his recitation of the Auden poem makes me cry every time!Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-18500387133943582802009-09-13T23:57:01.713-07:002009-09-13T23:57:01.713-07:00Howdy, Bane! I'll have to try again tomorrow.

Anyhoo, I think that might be it for the Turner-Douglas collaborations... but, oh, how awesome a pair they were. I especially love WAR OF THE ROSES - dark comedy at its sickest.

FINDING FORRESTER is a terrific movie - and I love that you can relate to it... no wonder you talk about B-ball so much on Nathan's site. ;-)

I've never seen HE GOT GAME, but I'd like to one of these days - thanks for the review!Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-10862738147723986452009-09-13T20:16:06.217-07:002009-09-13T20:16:06.217-07:00Oh cool. I think I've seen it before but that's okay--I've probably seen The Princess Bride well over a hundred times. Cultish eh! (And you're right--was that the worst book you've ever read or what!)

Is John Hannah in the 4th Mummy movie? Cause I should have that one in next week.. He's a sweetie--loved him as Matthew in Four Weddings.. Me likey, and me hubby knows it. ;-)

Steph - Yeah, LOVE ACTUALLY is great, and since it's such a complex movie, with an ensemble cast and tons of stories... I almost didn't put it on the list, but I love the little tale of the novelist and the servant girl... it's a magical love story!Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-67494407399022621562009-09-13T12:38:38.842-07:002009-09-13T12:38:38.842-07:00I love Love, Actually! Thanks for checking in... and thanks for letting me off the hook. :-)

I love SLIDING DOORS - it's a terrific movie, and I watch it a lot. The only reason that I didn't include it in my top ten is because, technically, the wannabe novelist in the movie is a jerk and not really the focus of the story. You're right that it's twisted - it's tragic, too, and yet uplifting in the end. And I fell in love with John Hannah, for sure.Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-91308293618216034972009-09-12T23:24:14.736-07:002009-09-12T23:24:14.736-07:00Thanks, Deb! And you should definitely check some of these out - if you're needing a laugh after those serious flicks, I'd suggest WONDER BOYS or SIDEWAYS.

P.S.
