And it's most certainly a holiday movie... remember, Lane gets a whole bunch of TV dinners for Christmas, and his dad has to wear that horrible aardvark outfit!Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-41700807704033913312009-12-08T21:07:50.122-08:002009-12-08T21:07:50.122-08:00"I want my TWO DOLLARS!"
How is it tha..."I want my TWO DOLLARS!"

How is it that I don't remember Better Off Dead as a holiday movie? Guess I'll just have to watch again! My favorite holiday flick: Christmas Vacation.

Now I'm all fired up to see when it comes on.TheWordWirehttp://thewordwire.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-46064042388563998052009-12-02T12:09:24.682-08:002009-12-02T12:09:24.682-08:00Hi, Stephanie! Thanks for weighing in... I rather ...Hi, Stephanie! Thanks for weighing in... I rather enjoy the MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL - in fact, the hubby and I think it's more enjoyable than the 3-D one out right now (which I finally got to see!)... although I admittedly liked the Jim Carrey one better than the hubby did.

WHITE CHRISTMAS is pretty good, too. Other must-sees every year are IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE (pretty dark for a Christmas tale) and A CHRISTMAS STORY (which cracks me up every time I see it).Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-25720933590289737902009-11-30T22:05:43.119-08:002009-11-30T22:05:43.119-08:00Muppet Christmas Carol. If not then, we'll for sure watch it sometime in December. Those are the two top Christmas movies for me.Stephanie McGeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16507025637411479409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-70928655285307776372009-11-28T15:42:10.047-08:002009-11-28T15:42:10.047-08:00Woohoo for THE REF - excellent holiday flick indee...Woohoo for THE REF - excellent holiday flick indeed. And, yes, Bane, thank "God" for the Internet.

Oh, Becky, I'm with you re: THE GRINCH. The original is WAY better than the Carrey version - I've heard as much re: the new CHRISTMAS CAROL, too, but I haven't seen it yet. :-( P.S. Thanks for the kind words re: my Moon post. Avalon asked all the bloggers to do a cause-related post, and being a New Orleans girl (and a fisherwoman no less), I had to say something about the poor wetlands...Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-71892997365170095122009-11-28T14:01:05.317-08:002009-11-28T14:01:05.317-08:00Again... kid flicks... BETTE...Oh, boy, Donna, you're missing out, too. BETTER OFF DEAD is hi-larious!

I'm with you on Christmas shopping... can't stand it. Mostly because shoppers are less than charitable during this time of year. The crowds, the arguments! Ick, ick, ick. Luckily, I don't have kids of my own to buy for (the nieces get giftcards), but still, I wait till the last minute for everyone else. :-(

And, yes, birthdays are pretty special. Mine's on Monday!Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-39940917051264316262009-11-28T12:03:38.866-08:002009-11-28T12:03:38.866-08:00OMG, Deb, you have to see it. Like when Lane's friend Charles De Mar accidentally pushes him off a bridge (after telling him NOT to kill himself), Lane lands in a garbage truck, and a nearby tree trimmer says, "Now, that's a real shame when folks be throwin' away a perfectly good white boy like that." LOL!

Glad the cowpoke appreciates it. *wink*

Oh, and I love that you love THE REF - that is an awesome freakin' movie! With some great funny lines of its own. I think it's Denis Leary and Kevin Spacey at their finest.Laura Martonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17131901155051433491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-87255432613522328212009-11-28T11:40:54.731-08:002009-11-28T11:40:54.731-08:00I haven't seen "Better Off Dead", bu...I haven't seen "Better Off Dead", but I did enjoy "While You Were Sleeping". Haven't seen it in years though.

I slept in yesterday too; christmas shopping is not my favorite thing to do so I refuse to get up in the middle of the night for a good bargain. I usually wait till almost the last minute to do any real shopping - mostly for stocking stuffers. My kids are all old enough one gift runs about $60. We've been slowly phasing out Christmas gifts around my house.

But birthdays - that another story. I spoil my kids on their special day.

..........dholedolorahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08715849844092553699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1362484318535208583.post-30174045992825355992009-11-28T08:07:43.025-08:002009-11-28T08:07:43.025-08:00LOL!
