Friday Fantasies: My Kingdom for a Movie Break

What a week this has been. Between slaving away on my Florida Keys travel guide and battling a stomach virus, I've had little time to relax – and right about now, I'm itching to see a good flick. Has anyone seen Shutter Island yet?

If so, what did you think of it? Dan and I are eager to know – we've been anxious to see this Martin Scorsese thriller for months now.

Can't help you guys with Shutter Island Laura, as you know I'm a lazy @$$ when it comes to traveling to watch a movie :) Hope you're feeling better, glad to hear you're busy on your new travel guide, and I've ventured into the world of author interviews and would love to do an interview with you when you're ready to launch your new guide..

Deb - No worries. I know how difficult it is for you to see a movie. For me, it's lack of time. For you, it's sheer distance.

As for the author interview, I would love to participate. Just let me finish the guide first!

Hope you're feeling better soon! Being sick is no fun at all! We've been so absorbed with the Olympics that I haven't even wanted to watch anything else!! Good luck with the guide and travels!

Thanks, B! As my mama told me yesterday, sleep is the key here. So, I'm trying my best to end my "night owl" ways - which ain't easy, I can assure you.

P.S. Enjoy the Olympics! (I've been so busy that I've only had time to catch the highlights on the news.)

Saw it Saturday -- it was alright, though fairly predictable, IMO. Several logical leaps, too, that were a bit far-fetched.

Thanks for the review, Bane! Despite lukewarm reviews (such as yours), Dan and I plan to see it on Friday night - as a double feature with THE CRAZIES, which, to be honest, I'm more excited about. Course, that's due, in large part, to my humongous crush on Timothy Olyphant.

What a great name, "Olyphant".
Sounds like a Dr. Zeus character.

I agree, R.R. Weren't those big elephant-like creatures called "oliphants" in LORD OF THE RINGS?
